Documentation on Patron Records Policy

It is recognized that patron records are confidential and not a matter of public record as defined by Chapter 78, Section 7 of the General Laws of Massachusetts. Therefore, it shall be the policy of the Taunton Public Library Trustees that any need to document a patron record held by the SAILS database for the purposes of improper behavior by patrons will not occur unless limited to noting instances of suspension or loss of specific or all privileges.

Documentation will be made only by the Department supervisors after consultation with the Director or Assistant Director.
