Sign up Sheets for Internet Use Procedure

1. Front desk will handle the sheet for the PC across from the front desk.

2. Reference will handle sheet for their PCs.

3. If a patron wants to use the Internet and the downstairs PC is booked/being used, the patron can:

• 1. Sign-up for later use or
• 2. They can use one in Reference if there one is available.

SUGGEST THIS TO THE PATRON.

4. Like the Friend's PC, sign-up for the Internet is just one day ahead

5. Time is one hour, if there isn't any one signed up-you can extend to two hours. NO MORE than that.

Just bear with this until we get all the kinks out--I'm sure more things will develop.

Computer Use

Patrons are limited to two hours total. Some patrons are abusing this and making like difficult. Since everyone has to be signed up either in Reference or on the main floor, if you are suspicious it isn't too hard to verify. Again, this is a case of common sense. If there is no one signed up and your patron is still on and behaving appropriately, he/she can continue on until someone needs the computer-but YOU have to monitor this. I'm particularly concerned with those patrons that have nothing else to do but sign up, use the computer, leave, come back, sign up, use the computer, leave, etc., etc., etc.
